Double Q Co. Ltd has strengthened its position in Uganda’s automotive and heavy equipment market after winning the Platinum Award for Best Distributor in Heavy Commercial Trucks, Equipment and Passenger Vehicles at the Business Excellence Awards 2026.
The award, presented on August 14 at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel, was based on a consumer survey in which customers and members of the public voted for the most trusted and best-performing brands and distributors.
Double Q’s Head of Marketing, Richard Musani, and Sales Director for XCMG Equipment, Kevin Li, received the award on behalf of the company from Minister of State for National Guidance, Hon. Alioni Yorke Odria.
The recognition comes as Double Q continues to expand its footprint across Uganda’s commercial transport, construction, industrial equipment and passenger vehicle markets.
The company is the authorised distributor of SINOTRUK, GWM, XCMG, HELI, KING LONG and WANLI, giving it exposure across several major segments of Uganda’s automotive and equipment industry.
Its portfolio includes heavy commercial trucks, construction and industrial equipment such as excavators, mobile cranes and forklifts, as well as passenger vehicles.
Double Q says it holds leading positions in several of these market segments, supported by an after-sales infrastructure designed to keep commercial and industrial customers operational.
The company operates 2S facilities providing service and spare-parts support in Hoima, Jinja, Arua, Mbale and Mbarara, in addition to its Kampala operations.
The nationwide network is particularly important for businesses whose operations depend on trucks and heavy machinery, where equipment downtime can directly affect revenues, project timelines and operating costs.
Beyond vehicle and equipment sales, Double Q has developed complementary services including vehicle financing, insurance, GPS tracking and rental solutions.
This approach positions the company beyond the traditional distributor model by offering customers services covering different stages of vehicle and equipment ownership.
The Platinum Award also comes at a time when Uganda’s demand for commercial vehicles and heavy equipment is being supported by investment in construction, logistics, trade, agriculture and infrastructure.
For Double Q, the consumer-voted award provides an additional measure of brand recognition in a market where reliability, access to spare parts and after-sales service are increasingly important considerations for fleet operators and businesses.
The company attributed the recognition to its customers, saying their votes and continued support were central to the achievement.
“This award belongs to you,” the company said in thanking customers for their continued trust and support.
