Kampala International University (KIU) today held its 31st graduation ceremony at its Western Campus in Ishaka, marking a historic milestone as the first time the event has been hosted at this location.
The ceremony saw a total of 2,214 students awarded academic qualifications, including PhDs, Master’s degrees, Bachelor’s degrees, and Diplomas across various disciplines.
The event attracted graduates, parents, university officials, and dignitaries from across the country, turning the Western Campus into a hub of celebration and academic pride.

Speaking at the function, university officials hailed the decision to host the graduation at the Western Campus as a significant step in decentralizing academic celebrations and recognizing the vital role the campus plays in KIU’s education ecosystem, especially in health and science-related fields.
“This is a great moment in the university’s history. Holding the 31st graduation ceremony here at the Western Campus reflects our commitment to inclusivity and development of all our campuses,” said one of the university representatives.
KIU, one of Uganda’s largest private universities, continues to make strides in academic excellence and regional outreach. The Western Campus, located in Bushenyi District, is widely known for its medical and health science programs and hosts students from across East Africa.
Parents and graduates expressed joy and gratitude during the colorful ceremony, with many calling it a testament to perseverance and hard work.
The university reaffirmed its mission to expand access to higher education and contribute to national development through research, innovation, and skill-based learning.
