The Bank of Uganda has officially released the results of its Treasury Bond re-opening auction held on August 12, 2026, with a settlement date of August 13, 2026.
The auction featured three benchmark maturities across 3-year, 10-year, and 20-year tenors, attracting strong market participation and demonstrating robust liquidity in the government securities market.
For the 3-year bond (ISIN UG12G0607287, maturing July 6, 2028), the central bank offered UGX 230.00 billion and received UGX 459.33 billion in total bids.
Out of these, UGX 307.33 billion was accepted at a cut-off price of 107.347, yielding 12.000% with a bid-to-cover ratio of 1.495.
Meanwhile, the 10-year paper (ISIN UG12K1405378, maturing May 14, 2037) generated the highest level of investor interest.
Against an offering of UGX 330.00 billion, total tendered bids surged to UGX 949.47 billion. The central bank ultimately accepted UGX 431.81 billion at a cut-off price of 108.581, establishing a yield of 15.000% and a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.199.
The long-term 20-year tenor (ISIN UG12L1806433, maturing June 18, 2043) was offered at UGX 430.00 billion and garnered UGX 861.63 billion in total tenders.
The Bank of Uganda accepted UGX 407.14 billion at a cut-off price of 97.571, resulting in a yield of 15.650% and a bid-to-cover ratio of 2.116.
Overall, investor appetite significantly surpassed the initial total offer of UGX 990.00 billion, driving total tender bids up to UGX 2.27 trillion across all three tenors.
In total, the central bank accepted UGX 1.146 trillion in bids, reflecting deep investor confidence across both short- and long-term yield curves. The next Bank of Uganda Treasury Bonds auction is slated for August 26, 2026.
