Electrify Africa, a trailblazer in electric mobility solutions, has unveiled groundbreaking initiatives aimed at transforming electric mobility across Africa.
The announcements signal a bold step towards sustainable transportation on the continent, focusing on community empowerment and accessibility,according to Yusuf Kayiwa,the Team Lead,Electrify Africa.

“Most People have been thinking that you have to have a lot of money, be a government official or a privileged person to do with e-mobility but what we have done is to lower the bar to the community”, Kayiwa added
Among its innovative projects is a Community-Owned EV Charging Network, allowing individuals to invest in electric vehicle (EV) chargers and connect them to the Electrify Africa platform. This initiative empowers communities to participate in the electric mobility revolution while creating income opportunities and enhancing access to charging infrastructure.

The company also revealed plans to offer Affordable EV Charging Solutions, making electric mobility more accessible and sustainable for the growing number of EV users in Africa. The move is expected to address cost barriers and foster wider adoption of EVs, particularly in regions where affordability remains a key concern.
Electrify Africa is leveraging the iconic Tesla Model X to symbolize the future of electric mobility. Through city drives and regional tours, the company plans to use the vehicle as a centerpiece for its campaigns to raise awareness about the potential of electric vehicles in combating climate change and advancing modern transportation.
