In what has for long been talked about Uganda’s future, post President Museveni has been that there was an unseen power struggle happening in his own house.
But why is it that socio-political commentators have not been comfortable talking about it?
Has it been the absence of evidence or the mere fear for their lives or businesses following the repercussions of such a debate, just like it has become a cliché, that there is freedom of speech but not freedom after speech?
Well, here is the evidence if at all they are not political mind games!
In a rant, on his X platform on the 16th August, he says,” Mzee, you arrested my friend Michael Mawanda, and you are comfortable taking pictures with the biggest thief in Uganda”, in reference to Odrek Rwabogo.
One thing is certain, that there is fire on the mountain if such allegations are true and might be true because there is no smoke without fire.
It is at least for now known that Gen. Muhoozi harbors intentions to be president of Uganda because he has declared so publicly, with the now inactive Patriotic League of Uganda party.
Taking a look on the other side of the fence, is a gentleman who has not shown any public interest save for continuing to appear at investment and export promotion functions to officiate.
This while serving in his capacity as the chairperson of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development.
Key to note though is often heard urging colleagues and all who care to listen to him to be patriotic.
Now you have two family members claiming to be patriotic, but to what extent have they been patriotic and is it themselves to declare so or the Ugandans, majority of whom live below a dollar per day.
In a statement, a group branding themselves, “The Disciples of Odrek Rwabwogo” have issued a statement accusing the CDF’s allegations as unfounded, false and malicious aimed at mischaracterizing their leader in to corrupt people’s perception and lower his public reputation.
They add that his utterances are emotive outbursts of chronic envy amidst calls to the public to ignore the fight. But this is a fight that cannot be ignored since it is a first family fight, come on,like Ugandans commonly say kazabike, to mean, let them take on each other!
