Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) has partnered with the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) to support the Green Industrial Agenda, an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable industrial growth in Uganda.
UMA Green Industrial Agenda 2025/26-2035/36 is a national program designed to prioritize the use of renewable energy sources and promote sustainable manufacturing practices.
Speaking at the launch of the initiative and the partnership, Kaziro Kyambade, the Head of Business at DTB notes that it will enhance the sustainability of supply chains by supporting projects focused on eco-friendly materials and green logistics.
“In alignment with the bank’s sustainability goals, commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development, the strategy is aimed at promoting sustainable industrial growth in Uganda,” he adds.
While officiating at the event, Prime Minister Hon Robbina Nabbanja urges industrialists to consider the green industrial agenda as a tool for sustainable socio-economic development, reiterating the government’s commitment to support manufacturers as they embark on their green industrial agenda.
She notes that the green industrial agenda should be embraced by all manufacturers for increased production of green products.
According to the Head of Business, the bank is also dedicated to driving sustainability in the manufacturing sector, and its ongoing efforts will ensure long-term positive impacts on the environment, economy, and society, reinforcing DTB’s role as a leader in promoting sustainable development.
