The family of Martha Ahumuza, who tragically passed away at Mezo Noir nightclub, has called on the public to refrain from spreading misinformation regarding her death.

Seth Muraali, the National Sports and Games Coordinator at the Office of the Chairman NRM and father of the deceased, urged the public to allow security agencies to conduct their investigations without interference.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the loss of our beloved daughter, Ahumuza Martha. As of now, we ask the public to stop speculating and circulating wrong information on social media as we put her to rest and let the security organs do their job of investigating,” Muraali stated.

Ahumuza reportedly collapsed on Wednesday night after consuming an alcoholic beverage suspected to have been tampered with by a nightclub staff member. She was rushed to Kampala Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Following the incident, authorities arrested several bar administrators and workers, leading to the temporary closure of Mezo Noir. Two men, Edward Mugabo, a cashier at the club, and his brother Joseph Kalenzi, are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
Ahumuza will be laid to rest on Sunday, March 23, in Nyarubaga Village, Mbarara. Police at Kira Road continue to investigate the suspected poisoning case.
