The Ministry of Health has assured the public that Antiretroviral Drugs (ARVs) remain readily available and free of charge at all public and Private Not For Profit health facilities across the country.
In an official statement, the ministry emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a steady supply of high-quality and effective antiretroviral treatment for people living with HIV. The statement further urged those in need of ARVs to take full advantage of these essential services.

This announcement comes amid growing concerns over the availability of life-saving HIV medication. However, the ministry reassured the public that there is no shortage and that the government continues to prioritize HIV treatment as part of its national health strategy.

Health officials also called upon all stakeholders, including healthcare workers and civil society organizations, to support efforts in ensuring that every person living with HIV has access to treatment without barriers.
Uganda has made significant strides in the fight against HIV/AIDS, with increased access to ARVs playing a crucial role in improving the health and well-being of many affected individuals. The government remains committed to sustaining these efforts to achieve an HIV-free generation.
