President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Justice Singiza as the new head of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), a key institution responsible for overseeing the recruitment, discipline, and administration of judicial officers in Uganda.
Justice Singiza, a respected legal mind with years of experience on the bench, replaces the outgoing chairperson, whose term recently ended.
His appointment comes at a crucial time when the judiciary is facing calls for greater efficiency, transparency, and independence.
State House confirmed the appointment in an official statement, praising Justice Singiza’s track record of integrity and commitment to judicial reforms. Legal experts and members of the legal fraternity have welcomed the decision, expressing confidence in his ability to strengthen the justice system.
Under his leadership, the JSC is expected to address key challenges, including case backlog, judicial corruption, and access to justice for all citizens.
Justice Singiza has previously advocated for reforms aimed at improving judicial processes and ensuring fairness in the appointment of judicial officers.
His appointment awaits formal approval by Parliament, after which he will officially take office.
