President Yoweri Museveni has announced plans to spend this week engaging with residents of Greater Mubende to assess the progress of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in the region.
In a brief message shared last evening, the President addressed Ugandans—particularly the youth, whom he affectionately refers to as the Bazzukulu—highlighting the importance of monitoring the implementation of government programs.
“Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, this week I will spend time with the people of Greater Mubende as we assess the PDM in that area,” Museveni stated.
The Parish Development Model, launched in 2022, is a flagship government initiative aimed at eradicating poverty by bringing services and economic opportunities closer to the people at the parish level.
It emphasizes inclusive development, especially targeting the 39% of Ugandan households that are still in the subsistence economy.
Museveni’s visit is expected to include meetings with local leaders, farmers, and PDM beneficiaries.
His tour will likely focus on evaluating how funds are being used, challenges being faced, and the overall impact of the program on rural livelihoods.
