The Provincial Assembly of the Anglican Church of Uganda has commenced at Nkoyoyo Hall, located within Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono. The Assembly, which is the supreme governing body of the Church, is chaired by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu.
Held every two years, the Provincial Assembly serves as the legislative authority for the Church of Uganda. It brings together representatives from the Houses of Laity, Clergy, and Bishops, with each diocese across the country sending delegates to participate. The gathering is a key event in the Church’s calendar, setting the direction for its mission and governance.
During this Assembly, participants will discuss a wide range of issues affecting the Church and its followers. The Assembly’s decisions will shape the Church’s policies, practices, and priorities for the coming years.
