The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has formally cleared Harriet Komuhimbo, a State House aide, of trespass allegations brought against her by a Nigerian national, Augustine Onwunche Nnamdi, in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, Rubaga Division.
In a withdrawal form signed by DPP Justice Jane Frances Abodo, the charges against Komuhimbo and two other individuals have been officially discontinued.
“This is to inform the Court that the DPP has decided to discontinue proceedings against Komuhimbo Harriet, Ahabwe Reagan No. 55459, and Magezi Norman, who were charged with trespass under Section 302(a) of the Penal Code Act,” the withdrawal form states.
The decision was also communicated to the Mwanga II Court’s Resident State Attorney and the Kampala South Regional CID Officer.

The complainant, Nnamdi, through his legal representatives at M/S Deric Advocates and Solicitors, requested the DPP to drop the charges, citing a lack of interest in pursuing the case.
“Our client avers and contends that he has withdrawn interest and has no desire to pursue the prosecution of this matter. Based on this, we respectfully request that the case be withdrawn against the accused persons,” a letter from Nnamdi’s lawyers stated.
Furthermore, Nnamdi formally apologized to Komuhimbo and her co-accused for the false allegations.

Komuhimbo, 39, and Reagan Ahabwe, 31, were initially arraigned before Mwanga II Road Court on November 24, 2023, where Magistrate Adams Byarugaba charged them with trespass under Section 2 of the Penal Code Act. The court, however, later withdrew the charges following the DPP’s intervention.
A previous court order, signed by Principal Grade One Magistrate Adams Byaruhanga, officially dismissed the case.
“It is hereby ordered that the case against the three accused persons is withdrawn as per the request of the DPP,” the court order reads.
The prosecution had alleged that the suspects, along with others still at large, were arrested on November 16, 2023, after reportedly raiding Nnamdi’s residence in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja, suspecting him of dealing in smuggled goods. However, with the case now withdrawn, Komuhimbo and her co-accused are officially exonerated of any wrongdoing.
