Kenoheri Jolin Rugari, a house wife and resident of Mutungo zone 8 , accused of murdering her two-and-a-half-year-old son, Nganwa Rugari, was on Thursday brought before the Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court for the mention of her case.
Jolin was arrested last week after she reported that her son had fallen from the first floor of their house.

However, police grew suspicious after a medical examination revealed no injuries consistent with a fall. This led authorities to open a murder case against her.
The tragic incident occurred on April 2. According to police sources, the mother’s account of events appeared inconsistent with the evidence found at the scene and in the child’s post-mortem report.
Investigators say the lack of visible trauma on the body raised red flags.
Jolin’s maid, who was reportedly at home at the time of the incident, has also been arrested to assist police with ongoing investigations.
During the court session, no plea was taken as the magistrate’s court lacks jurisdiction over capital offenses. The prosecution informed the court that inquiries are still underway.
Jolin has been remanded until her next court appearance, pending further investigation.
The husband, Diplomat Chris Rugari has broken silence following the tragic death of his two-year-old son Nganwa Rugari, who was under the care of his mother, Joline Kanoheri his estranged wife.
Mr. Rugari, Zimbabwe’s Consular General to Uganda, has, in a letter to the media vowed to uncover the truth behind the “brutal and cruel death” of his son which occurred under “unclear circumstances.”
