Uganda Airlines has begun operations on the new route to Abuja, Nigeria.
The new service operates every Thursday and Sunday, with flights departing Entebbe at 16:00 and arriving in Abuja at 18:15, using our Airbus A330-800neo.
According to CEO, Uganda Airlines, Jennifer Bamuturaki, “These flights are the second city in Nigeria, after Lagos that will be a combined flight.’’
“We will be using the Airbus for the two routes and the flight number will be UR 900,”she adds.
Abuja is now the Airlines 14th destination, and second in Nigeria, as it continues to expand to to connect Africa more efficiently.
This new route addresses a key connectivity gap between West and East Africa, allowing travelers to seamlessly connect to other destinations like Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Mombasa, and more.
The Acting High Commissioner of Nigeria to Uganda, Fehintola Adebowale Oyeyemi says, “Ever since this flight commencement we have actually noticed seen an increase in trade and investment between the two countries.”
The Minister of State for Works, Hon. Byamukama Fred notes,” by establishing the Entebbe Abuja Route, there will be increased activity between the two countries. This will facilitate investment, trade and economic cooperation, thereby contributing to economic growth.
Director General Civil Aviation Authority, Fred Bamwesigye says the airline is expanding and that means that the whole infrastructure of aviation has to move in the same step of expansion.
